Its MLA is Sue Hammell. She was first elected in 1991. She represents the New Democratic Party of British Columbia. She has served as Minister of Multiculturalism and Immigration 2000-2001, Minister Responsible for the Public Service 2000-2001, Minister of Women's Equality 1996-1999, Minister of Housing, Recreation and Consumer Services 1995-1996, and Minister Responsible for Co-operatives 1995-1996.
