[edit] Category

Please do not knowingly create duplicate categories. If you have a problem with the size of Category:Controversial computer and video games, you should attempt to nominate it to be renamed at WP:CFD, although I can tell you for this specific one, you won't get much backing since spelling out "computer and video games" is a current format of numerous subcategories in the Category:Computer and video games hierarchy. K1Bond007 22:25, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

It doesn't appear so from the message you left on the category, but whatever. K1Bond007 00:46, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] hi

can you please help me on my Lisa Kushell article. I thiink you are super cool thanks.Wiki brah 05:20, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks...

Thanks for your help on the Lisa Kushell article. By the way do you think a template like this would help on it: Template:Hot_Jewish_Actress-stub. Do you think it should be on there? Wiki brah 08:26, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of eponymous albums (songwise)

Hiya. I stumbled across this article you just created when viewing recent changes this morning, but didn't have the time to do anything with it. Is this list really necessary? When you think about it, most albums have an eponymous song on it - from my own Winamp collection, 29 out of 52 (excluding collections) have an eponymous song. And when you consider the amount of albums there is, the list is going to be absolutely unmaintainable, not to mention that I don't think it brings together albums with anything in common apart from this. Sam Vimes 22:08, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

Add to that the list of sports teams/automobile link thing. SD, please stop pulling these random associations out of your head. They are causing a huge drain on this site's editors and resources, OK? Your old pal, Lucky 6.9 07:27, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

You don't understand, SD. The odds are that no one will come here searching for such a list, let alone under the title you've given this. Please. You cannot use this as a sort of text dump for whatever idea pops into your mind. I repeat: No one will come here searching for information like this. I know you mean well, but this is a waste of time and resources. This is not Google, nor is it a dumping ground for every possible combination of ideas on the planet. Please do me a favor. Think of a subject you like and see if there's an article. Then, see if there's a way to improve it. If something truly notable is not represented, write something about it. I was shocked to discover a red link at Academy of Model Aeronautics just the other day. Now, we have an article of potential use to thousands of people. See what I mean? In fact, go to my user page. There are links to all of my original articles on it, including three which were brought to featured status. Almost all of those articles have thrived and grown because they are of general interest to lots of people. Take a look through them to see what I mean. - Lucky 6.9 19:51, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Detachable what?!?

Hi, SD! I gotta tell you...that title threw me for a loop. When I saw what it was really about, I couldn't help laughing. Very, very good work. Excellent song stub! Keep up the good edits!! - Lucky 6.9 04:11, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Willy on Wheels/Whilly on Weels

No, I am not claiming to be Willy on Wheels. To the contrary, I stated that the user account User:Whilly on Weels has nothing to do with this vandal; I registered it just for fun. - Mike Rosoft 21:37, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User page

Say, would you like a hand setting up a permanent user page? I see you're still using the temporary one I made. Hey, if ya gonna be a playah, ya gotta have da bling!  :) Best, Lucky 6.9 23:41, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Song list

You're up late.  :) Got a song for your list: "Power of Love/Love Power" by Luthor Vandross. How 'bout it...? - Lucky 6.9 04:29, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Disambiguation

Hi. I noticed you created Category:Human name disambiguation. You might want to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation to find out what other people are doing in the dab arena. --RoySmith 17:38, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Template:LND

I notcied your creation of Template:LND. There is a discussion at WikiProject dab's about it, please join in. --Commander Keane 16:44, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] template:disambig

I've noticed that you tried to "move" {{disambig}} back to its proper location by copying and pasting. However, this is generally not recommended, as it destroys the history of the page.

The next time, you can revert a page move by finding the entry in the move log and then clicking the "revert" link. You can move a page over a redirect if there is only one edit in its history. --Ixfd64 22:09, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Article up for deletion

I noticed that these articles:

  • Gallery of Nintendo Entertainment System screenshots
  • Gallery of Super Nintendo Entertainment System screenshots
  • Gallery of Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis screenshots
  • Gallery of Sega Master System screenshots

that you worked on in the past are now are up for deletion. Would you vote in favor of keeping these images, they show the history of the advancement of video game graphics over time and are useful as a source of images for graphics for video game articles. --ShaunMacPherson 19:54, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikibooks

Good question! I haven't used Wikibooks yet nor have I contributed, but I'd like to after I come back from my break. I used to square dance back when I was a kid and I still remember the basic moves, but I don't really know many other steps to other dances. Whenever I do Joey and Maria's Comedy Italian Wedding, I have to dance with guests. So, I know how to do a basic foxtrot, waltz and box step and as a scripted part of the show, I can do the tarantella (pretty simple!), electric slide and macarena. Not much in the way of "busting a move," but it's a start.  :) - Lucky 6.9 22:38, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] an article you wrote in the wikipedia namespace

I just want to let you know that I nominated wikipedia:misnamed article for miscellaneous deletion. I then investigated the situation further, withdrew the nomination, and made the article a redirect to wikipedia:naming conventions. I've also modified the link to Talk:69 Boys, so it takes the user to the last revision of that article. I don't think it was a necessary guideline, and the wikipedia namespace needs cleanup anyway, as it is hard to find the policy you want in there. --Graham 11:08, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] IMDb

  • Please do not modify the IMDb templates without discussion. This would require the editing of thousands of pages to cope with the changes you've made. If you want to change something, please make a proposal in the talk page of the templates and let's discuss about it. For the time being, I have reverted both your edits. Hektor 20:54, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] VFD: Bracketed songs

Just a quick message to let you know that a page that you have contributed to in the past, List of songs with brackets in their titles, is up for deletion here :( David 5000 18:06, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Highways

I saw your vote on that Highways in Puerto Rico article. Good call, man! I just wanted to let you know of my appreciation. If you want to have a look at the new articles I created, please do so and feel free to improve or update them. Also, know of any good administrators I can go to with questions? Oh, i'm Shelly by the way.  :)Shelburne Kismaayo 00:52, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Glenn move

Why did you move Glenn to Glenn Harding Englert, nobody knows this artist by this name! You also redirected Glenn to Glen and there is nothing at Glen named Glenn. We worked out last year where this article belongs. Glenn is not a stage name or assumed name, it is the legal name and most well-known way to refer to Glenn/Bongo the Clown. Pedant 06:28, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Please move it back, and discuss major changes like this on the article's discussion page first. Pedant 06:31, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
And when you make a major move, would you check the 'what links here' for double-redirected links? you left over two dozen orphan links in that move. Pedant 06:38, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Nice try, but I am not a WP administrator. Have an admin do it for me since one page has to be temporarily deleted (which only admins can do) before revision occurs. --SuperDude 06:37, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

That's why we discuss these things before we do them. Next time would you please think and discuss before making such a big change to an old, stable page? Please. Pedant 15:42, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Autofellatio move

Please take a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions and Wikipedia:Subpages - specifically, "Do not use an article name that suggests a hierarchy of articles". Subpages are no longer used on Wikipedia articles, so I moved autofellatio back from Oral sex/Autofellatio. Hierarchical naming proved to be unworkable.

Also, I requested speedy deletion for the list of articles by you. It would have been better if you'd simply asked me to delete it, though. Rhobite 17:13, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Template:miscdis

Hi - I don't understand the purpose of the {{miscdis}} tag, and how it is an improvement over {{disambig}}. Could you explain? Thanks. CDC (talk) 19:17, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

I too, am interested in the answer to this question --RoySmith 23:55, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hi!!!

Hey, Clint! Long time no see. How go things in Michigan? - Lucky 6.9 03:13, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Glad to hear it. Too bad about Willy. What a freaking loser. I've been spending time at a new radio control wiki at Wikicities and having a blast, almost more so than here. Doing some R/C flying tomorrow morning, in fact. I have a new plane and have only had the chance to take it up four times so far. Tried flying yesterday but I had a problem with the plane's nosewheel. Steering arm broke and when I throttled up for takeoff, the gear turned inward and flip! Right over on its top. No damage, but no flying. All better now.  :) - Lucky 6.9 03:19, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

One more thing: Gotta run, but you might want to change the title of that new list to read "phenomena" instead of "phenomenon." Talk to ya later. - Lucky 6.9 03:21, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Classics-gennex.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Classics-gennex.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 11:21, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neologisms

Hi there, a while ago you made an edit on the Wikipedia:Avoid neologisms guideline. I am proposing a revision to the guideline and I'm soliciting your comments. You can find the link to my rewrite at Wikipedia talk:Avoid neologisms -- cmh 01:11, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AFD

Hi, I noticed you nominated List of non-instrumental songs with titles that do not appear in the lyrics for deletion previously but it failed. Frankly that list is so silly that I have nominated it again, you might want to re-state your point. TH 15:09, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] They've killed the List of famous failures in science and engineering! You Bastards!!

Mmx1 is taking the fight that I have over the F-14 and F-111 to the failure page, and he has nominated them for deletion. The wiki-thugs are all voting to delete the page. Mmx1 has reversed the F-14 page to state that it is not, and has never been designed as a maneuverable air superiority fighter, and is not accepting any contrary citations up to and including a F-14 test pilot, Janes Defence, and Aviation Week. He is apparently taking revenge against other pages. Please go to the deletion page and tell the administrators what is going on. Look at the patterns of MMx. He regular accuses others of gross misinformation and summarily reverts most edits as a self-appointed judge of all truth, but in fact should not be allowed this leeway. --matador300 11:02, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Is this the place to leave a message for you? Please check the article Tahirih Justice Center, which is an organization that succeeded in getting the IMBRA law passed that regulates international dating websites (those with more than 50% foreigners). Two people with major POV are owning the article and refusing to allow any objective and neutral POV, which is lacking. Keep in mind that, if IMBRA is upheld in the courts (not likely) then domestic dating websites will be regulated so you can't talk to a woman online until after you've submitted background check information and gotten her approval for you to even say "hello" and introduce yourself. The issue is dicussed at Online-Dating-Rights.com and elsewhere.EnglishGarden 14:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible deletion

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Dead nigger storage, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Dead nigger storage. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Mason_county,_MI_courthouse.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Mason_county,_MI_courthouse.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 02:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
