"Superstar" was the second single from British R&B star Jamelia's second album Thank You. The song, released in the UK on September 15, 2003, was a sleeper hit, entering the UK Top 10 at #8 but as airplay, video play and the general awareness of the track increased, after a month on the UK Singles Chart, the track climbed to a peak of #3. "Superstar" became the 26th biggest selling single of 2003, the first appearance for Jamelia in the Official Chart of the Year. The single has been certified Silver in the UK by the BPI, spending 20 weeks on the UK Singles Chart, over double that of her previous biggest hit, "Money".

"Superstar" also saw worldwide chart success including a peak of #1 in Australia and New Zealand along with top 20 positions in over 10 other countries.

The track was originally released by Danish singer Christine Milton in Spring 2003.

The song is also featured on the hit Disney Channel show That's So Raven's soundtrack.

In November 2006, "Superstar" appeared on the debut album of US teen sensation Bianca Ryan, the first winner of the tv-show America's Got Talent.

[edit] Trivia

Parts of the video for Superstar were shot in an abandoned warehouse even though Jamelia has a fear of Pigeons.
