[edit] Ride description

The ride is themed to Superman and features an indoor launch, a top hat, camel humps and many banked turns. Riders get into the "Metropolis Rapid Transit (MRT)" cars and set off through the Metropolis Station, experiencing heavy tremors. Riders pass through various chambers where the damage of the tremors are evident, including one where simulated floodwater is pouring in fast and another chamber where cars falling in from aboveground are shown.

At the end of the pre-ride segment, "It's Superman!" can be heard, followed by Superman saying, "Don't worry folks, there's only one way out of this mess! I'll push you out of here. Fast. Superman fast."

The high-speed roller coaster segment then begins, as riders are hydrauclically catapulted up the first and highest slope, experiencing 4.2 G-forces at this point. This is followed by a drop, where negative Gs are experienced. The rest of the ride consists of the above-mentioned features, followed by a stop after around a minute. Riders are sent off with "Thanks to Superman, you've all arrived safely!"

  • After the train arrives at the end of the ride, a poster with the word "Siegel" at the bottom can be noticed to the right. This is a nod to Jerry Siegel, one of the Superman creators.
  • A statue of Superman pushing the train is attached to the back of it.
  • There actually are a few real-life unrelated transport systems called the MRT or Mass Rapid Transit (see disambiguation), the closest being the Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore).
  • The ride opened about one year before the Batman-themed vertical ride Batwing Spaceshot, which opened on 20 December 2006
