Supercross (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Supercross (or "Superbowl Motocross") is a challenging motorcycle sport executed on a precise and difficult dirt track, featuring many man-made jumps, gates, and obstacles, that are constructed inside the contest area of a large professional sports arena.
In other contexts, Supercross can refer to:
- The high action and dangerous professional motorcycle sport of Supercross events filmed during parts of a Hollywood production entitled Supercross: The Movie (2005), that was later made into a Supercross DVD (2006), and the following High Definition TV version called Supercross. Actors Steve Howey, Mike Vogel, Sophia Bush, Channing Tatum, Cameron Richardson, Aaron Carter, and more, take some hard knocks for this Southern California set drama. Along with them are actual Supercross racers Tyler Evans, Rick Johnson, and others playing in acting roles, performing stunts, racing, and qualifying up through the Supercross Championship Final in order to race and double for the actors in the story. The account is fictional, yet much of the filming takes place on actual days of contest and during live gate events where the crowd is photographed with the action... so that in some ways the production is a Supercross Docudrama movie.
- SuperCROSS, a statistical cross-tabulation software program published by Space-Time Research of Melbourne, Australia.[1]
