Supercommentary

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A supercommentary is a commentary on a commentary[1]. Its purpose can be to support or to analyse a commentary.

In Judaism, many supercommentaries have been produced on important works, such as Rashi's Torah commentary - composed by Elijah Mizrachi and the Maharal of Prague, among others.
