Super Fighter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Super Fighter (in Chinese: 快打至尊) is a one-on-one versus fighting game for IBM-PC systems running MS-DOS. It was developed by C&E, Inc. of Taiwan, and first released in Taiwan on February 20, 1993. An English version of the game was also released, albeit in much shorter supply, under the name Fatal Encounter.
Super Fighter featured eight selectable hero characters (Jaan, Sarorkov, Bullet, Pho Huang, Frank, Onimalu, King Tai Chi and Lan) who are all hopeful of reaching and defeating the three evil bosses (Widow, Joker and Indian Joe). To be successful in their fights, each character had a good supply of normal and special attacks.
Super Fighter Team are in charge of continued, new developments and general support for Super Fighter, with full permission of C&E, Inc. Their efforts are showcased at SuperFighter.com, the Official Super Fighter Website.
Now the Flash edition of this game is available for online play. It was created under version four of Macromedia Flash in 2003. However, not all special attacks in the original edition were included in this edition, and many of them were omitted. There was only one background music in the Flash edition (music of Lan's stage). This game (both editions) can be downloaded from some websites in China (including Taiwan).
The game heavily borrows ideas (and some sprites) from the video game Street Fighter.
