A supernumerary rainbow. The image has been enhanced by dramatically increasing the contrast from the original, but is otherwise untouched.

The supernumerary bows are the repeated green and purple bands just inside the primary bow. At the time of this photograph the outer secondary bow was too faint to be seen, and in any case may not have been within the field of view with the zoom lens used. However, the secondary bow was visible a few minutes earlier, as shown in the related picture.
