[edit] Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, WP:NOT
I am not interested in getting into an edit war on this page, but please be aware of Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Cross-namespace links to user pages and nicknames like Valentin "Most likely to edit this page next" Macias are not appropriate additions to encyclopedia articles. Reverting their removal as "vandalism" is also inappropriate, and the reversions have resulted in breaking other fixes to the page. Dekimasuよ! 08:02, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Granted, nicknames may not be encyclopaedic, but removing extra information whilst removing these (i.e. removing more than stated - an entire paragraph, in fact, could easily be regarded as vandalism. Likewise, I have no interest in entering any kind of "editing war". I trust that the newly updated page meets your approval. User:Jpbarrass 1.14 a.m., 7th April, 2007
Listing the names of English instructors is not relevant and is not appropriate for an encyclopaedia project. Please use Facebook. --Mumun 無文 16:50, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
University information box templates include fields for presidents and the like automatically. Surely you aren't suggesting that Wikipedia approves of pulling rank, and assuming that you are not suggesting this, all information is worthy of note. User:Jpbarrass 1.14 a.m., 7th April, 2007
- You have been told by Dekimasu that your edits and re-insertion of inappropriate material are in violation of Wikipedia policy, but perhaps you are unaware of said policy. You have responded with a nonsense response above and have reverted our reversions. This causes Wikipedia editors to focus on what your intentions are here. Let me quote from the Wikipedia Five Pillars (WP:Five Pillars):
- Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Wikipedia is not a trivia collection, a soapbox, a vanity publisher.
- The roster of English language instructors is not appropriate content for this encyclopaedia project. Please consult WP:COI, in particular 'self promotion'. Please consult Wikipedia:Relevance. You deleted content to the talk page posted by Dekimasu -- this is also unwise and causes other editors to question what it is that you are attempting to do here. Making a self-declaration that a debate on merging articles is finished before it has even started makes other editors wonder about your intentions here at Wikipedia. Please consult WP:CON. JpBarass -- you seem to make good contributions elsewhere; I urge you to try an understand this issue and how your recent edits affect the way other editors perceive your actions. If you continuously re-insert inappropriate material into Wikipedia articles it is vandalism. Please check the policies. --Mumun 無文 17:57, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
