The spelling of the family and genus name is based on Illiger, 1811: Eurypyga. Dumont, in 1821, changed the spelling to Eurypiga, but such "unjustified emendations" are not recognized under the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. If someone has specific arguments why Illiger's spelling (the original) should not have precedence, then and only then should the alternative spelling be used. If someone knows exactly why the spelling "Eurypigidae" has come into recent use, then maybe that should be included in the article, to prevent future attempts to change the spelling in the article and related pages. If it simply appeared without justification in a published classification (e.g., the Sibley-Monroe list), that alone is not evidence that it is the correct spelling.
