Sunset Junction, Los Angeles, California
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sunset Junction is a community part of the district of Silver Lake in Los Angeles, California. It is home to the Sunset Junction Street Fair, which hosts many notable music acts, as well as rides and vendors. It is located on the southern part of the district, its center being at Sunset Blvd.
Along with Silver Lake in general, the shops and general area in the last two decades have become part of the Los Angeles' alternative music scene. Its recent history also marks the areas center as a "low-key" gay community in sharp contrast to the more "poppy" gay area in West Hollywood. This may have at first created some tensions between the inhabitants of the district but by now has become generally accepted.

The name refers to the "junction" of Sunset Blvd. And Santa Monica Blvd, two of the largest streets in Los Angeles. For most of their distance the streets run parallel, but join together here where Santa Monica Blvd ends and they meet Sanborn Ave.
