Sunnyvista is the fifth album by Richard and Linda Thompson. Released in October 1979, it is a partly satirical album with the target being the increasingly uniform and unforgiving late 1970s England.
One of the most commercial albums they had ever been with, the response to it by the critics and the public was lukewarm, and Chrysalis declined an option to extend their contract with the Thompsons.
