Sunninghill, Gauteng

Sunninghill is a prestigious commercial and residential suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is located in Region 2. The N1 freeway, which at this area is eight lanes across, forms its southern boundary with access at Rivonia offramp. The offramp has previously had it's share of notorious car hijackings in the news. A new road, the K60, has long been planned to eleviate traffic problems in what is thought to be the most congested suburb in Johannesburg. (Part of the K60 ,through Sunninghill, is being built at the moment and should be finished by the end of 2007)

Sunninghill Hospital is one of the top hospitals in Johannesburg, and there are many large corporations that are based in Sunninghill, such as Acer, Eskom, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Astrazeneca and Unisys.

Additionally a new shopping complex, Chilli Lane, has been built in Sunninghill on the extended Rivonia / Leeuwkop road, comprising some of the better known South African retailers such as Woolworths and Pick 'n Pay, as well as one of the two newly proposed gyms in the suburb.
