Sun Street (Chinese: 日街) is a street in Wan Chai, with two companions Moon Street (月街) and Star Street (星街), on the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong.

[edit] History

The hilly area of the streets was the earliest burial ground assigned by Hong Kong Government for non-Chinese population in 1841 and completed removed in 1889, replaced by local Chinese residential buildings.

The streets later became the site of Wan Chai Power Plant of Hongkong Electric in 1900s. In memorial of the lighting brought by the plant, the surrounding streets were then named after three lights, sun, moon and star in the Three Character Classic, namely Sun Street, Moon Street and Star Street.
