Sun Deng was a minister of the Kingdom of Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period of China. Sun Deng was the eldest son of the famous emperor of Wu, Sun Quan. When Sun Quan took the throne as the emperor of Wu Sun Deng became the Crown Prince. It is known that Sun Deng was both wise and virtuous, having all the makings of a great man. Sun Deng was destined however never to become the future emperor of Wu and died at a young age through illness. The future emperors of Wu who were destined to take the throne however would fail in keeping prosperity throughout the kingdom, one of such would be Sun Hao who was the cause of the embarrassing fall of Wu. He was married to Zhou Ying, Zhou Yu's daughter.
