[edit] improvement tags

You removed {{importance}}{{unreferenced}}{{uncat}}{{linkless}} from the Brianna Rieffel article. It is not mandatory that you should action these tags. But if you are not willing to action them - leave them in place to invite other editors to contribute. -- RHaworth 00:41, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I will add any further information when I can. I will contact Brianna herself and see if there is anything else she would like added. The information I added has a source (her website), but I did not want to plagerize it. -- Mike S. 00:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

You have probably got enough from her website. The whole point of my {{importance}} {{unreferenced}} tags was that we want to know what other people think of her. -- RHaworth 01:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

On her MySpace page, she has a special box where fans are able to leave messages for her. Maybe that can give you an idea. BTW, I have contact Brianna. -- Mike S. 01:21, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

If I were to go by comments such as: hey bree thanx 4 the add. umm jw how old r u???, I would speedily delete her straight away! No. I want reasoned reviews by hardened journalists in the music industry - I have no idea where you find them but they must exist. Also we need a feel for her sales figures. -- RHaworth 01:36, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Briannarieffel.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Briannarieffel.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Picture 083.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Picture 083.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 13:12, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Nctv.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Nctv.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jesse Viviano 05:06, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:RollerJamlogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:RollerJamlogo.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 13:32, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not upload images in the GIF format

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before converting (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. There are a bunch of other advantages to the PNG format such as lossless compression that you can read about on its Wikipedia article. ---Remember the dot 03:23, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Country Tonite Theatre

A tag has been placed on Country Tonite Theatre, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Daniel J. Leivick 20:30, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] speedy delete, no assertion of notability

A tag has been placed on King Videocable, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alan.ca 19:42, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

As I said before, this logo belongs to Northland Cable Television. Go to the corporate website and see for yourself. I used to work for them. I added copyright information to the image. Corporate website] is linked. Summers95926 10:41am PST, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

It was orphaned because I replaced Image:Nctv.jpg with a more appropriately compressed Image:Northland Cable.png. JPEG is inappropriate for this image, which is line art. When JPEG is fed line art, it either produces a large file that looks good or produces a small file that looks bad depending on how much compression is applied. For example, the JPEG version uses 5KB to store and transmit, while the PNG version uses 3KB. Also, if you look at it on the right way on an LCD screen, you could see grains around the words "NORTHLAND CABLE TELEVISION" in the JPEG version and a green aura effect around the boxed arrow, while the PNG versions lack those JPEG artifacts. PNG can compress line art well and produce an image that is identical to the original image when decompressed. However, PNG chokes on photos. It produces perfect-looking images, but PNG cannot compress photos very much if at all. Feeding JPEG a photo can produce a great-looking image that is reasonably sized, or a good-looking image that is tiny depending on how much compression is applied. GIF is appropriate on Wikipedia if the image is an animation, because it is the only widely-adopted short-length animation standard. However, GIF is bad for everything else because its 256-color limit often turns photos into grainy messes and that its line art compression capability, while good, is not as good as PNG's line art compression ability. If you can produce SVG graphics, use SVG for all line art that is needed except for fair use images, where SVG's infinite resolution vector capabilities run afoul of fair use rules and laws. [edit] Boles Creek Wrestling

The article Boles Creek Wrestling has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 13:27, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Boles Creek Wrestling is a legitimate independent wrestling promotion. I started work on the page and within two minutes, it was tagged for speedy deletion. Then within 12 hours, it was gone. I was never even given a chance to legitimise the article. If the roster found out you did this, they would curse you out. But since I'm more reasonable, I will try again later. Plus, I need a chance to assert notability without having it tagged less than two minutes into working on it. There are a few other promotions that I would like to add here, too. But I need time. NawlinWiki 6:49pm PST, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Boles Creek Wrestling has again been deleted. See Wikipedia:Notability and WP:ORG. NawlinWiki 11:55, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

I told you that Boles Creek Wrestling is a legitimate wrestling promotion that deserves recongnition, as does Pro Championship Wrestling and Ultimate Championship Wrestling (all deleted).
