[edit] Country in Britain

Thanks for your answer at WP:RD about country music in Britain. I am grateful. I see you are fairly new here. Let me know if I can be of any help. PedanticallySpeaking July 8, 2005 20:55 (UTC)

Well, I looked at the history of this page and you're not new. I just assumed so because your only message was the greeting from Meelar. In any event, greetings and salutation. PedanticallySpeaking July 8, 2005 20:56 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Hells Flash

You tagged this for SD, but did not provide a WP:CSD. I did not see why it was a CSD, so I removed the tag. Please read over WP:CSD and provide a reason. I think it is probably some kind of fancruft, which is not a CSD. JesseW, the juggling janitor 21:23, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Australian collaboration of the fortnight

Hi. You voted for Marree Man as the Australian Collaboration of the fortnight. It has been selected, so please improve it in any way you see fit. --Scott Davis Talk 12:26, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ian Brown and "F.E.A.R."

That's cool that you saw the filming of the video. Ian's not that big over here (Canada), but I managed to meet him at a radio station before a concert in Toronto back in March. He's much shorter in person... --Madchester 17:24, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Norwich

Well done, Sum0, in reorganising this article, which was getting increasingly confusing to read. It was long overdue, and if you hadn't done it, I might have been tempted to have a go myself.... Bruce, aka Agendum | Talk 00:07, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] How to unjam a US Military M4 assault rifle

An Award
I award the Surreal Barnstar to Sum0 for services on the Wikipedia Reference Desk. He single handedly helped a user with a jammed M4 Assault Rifle. Without this help untold lives could have been saved! Majts 10:27, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Your answer to Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Miscellaneous#How to unjam a US Military M4 assault rifle. did make me laugh. I had visions of an American infantryman desperately typing the question into his laptop whilst being stormed by Iraqi insurgents. The reference desk really is the best place on the web for the most bizarre and downright weird questions. Keep up the good work Majts 10:27, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Wow... really... I'm honoured. Thank you! --Sum0 15:01, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Welcome to the pedia Sum0 keep up the good work, there's still lots to do and a merry Xmas to you ! Norwikian 12:23, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sum0 is Knowledgeable!

Hi, thanks for your additions on Drum magazine. I started the article with some basic info. from Magazine (firearm) and didn't have any time to expand it. You really put some good basic descriptions and references in the article. There's a lot more information that can go in there, but how much time does one have? BTW, how did you come across that article less than 12 hrs after I created it? Do you use the "Special Pages" and look for new articles on that page that are in your area of interest? I've only been doing this for a month or so, so don't know the tricks yet.TGC55 13:07, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:27, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ayman Al Zwahiri

Thanks, I worried about blanking a section; it seemed a bit drastic. It's easy to be sucked into replying with that sort of thing and I could feel the evil gravitational forces pulling my fingers to the keyboard. But it was a statement looking for trouble, and a chat going nowhere good! Skittle 22:45, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hammerspace

I removed your contribution to Hammerspace and thought it prudent to explain myself. The article has a significant problem with "example creep": people adding their favorite instances until they weigh down the article and damage its readability. The last time it was trimmed, it even referenced the LEGO Star Wars video game. For this reason, I'm very careful with adding examples that don't really add to the understanding of the subject. On that note, your edit was certainly valid, but not very relevant; teleportation isn't Hammerspace. It's true that teleportational (is that a word?) item retrieval works like Hammerspace, though, so I've added a note of it to the analogies section.

If you disagree, I can probably be argued down. --Kizor 09:00, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Medical Advice

The reference desk will not provide medical advice. If you have questions about your personal medical condition, I reccomend you contact a doctor or local emergency room. JBKramer 16:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It seemed far more current to me and to the person that responded. I do suggest you speak to a medical professional. JBKramer 18:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a migraine to me, but I agree, you should talk to a doctor. Also check the article on Porphyria. Especially cuz of the call of nature thing. Anchoress 22:07, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I seem to have been severely misunderstood... this was a one-off illness I suffered for a day or two a few years ago. I don't think it's chronic. Sum0 22:19, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Geez, I'm sorry I took the time to try to help you out. FWIW, both of the conditions I suggested can be episodic. I suggest you wait until a few decades have passed before you decide whether or not they were a one-off. Don't expect any more help from me. Anchoress 22:23, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for any offence, I didn't mean any. Thanks for letting me clear this up. Sum0 22:26, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] From Russia With Love

Hi. You added a bias tag to the "background" section. I couldn't agree more. I've cleaned it up, including removing such lines as "Certainly, it boasts one of the most inspired casts, with even minor character roles being superbly played by a brilliant ensemble of international actors."!!! Best regards Mark83 21:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
