All the official maps (both promotional and in-game) I've seen have the name as Sumurset Isle. —Andux, 2005-06-14

I can find no evidence that the name of the isle is indeed Sumurset Isle as opposed to Summerset Isle, and significant support for Summerset Isle, including Bethesda's own website. -Senori 22:11, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

The map used in Daggerfall during character generation (TMAP00I0.IMG) and this Redguard-era promotional map both have it as Sumurset. Arena apparently had it as Summurset, so I guess whether one M or two is official is arguable. I'd say that U wins out over E, though. —Andux 02:25, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
It's clear they've change it since then, because their main site says Summerset all over.
Given the opportunity I'd say we should use Summerset simply because it's the current spelling, and by far the majority will be looking for it and not the older Sumurset convention. -Senori 01:58, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
That's nothing a redirect won't solve.
Also, given that the Pocket Guide to the Empire (which refers to "the Summerset Isles") and the promotional map linked above were both created during the Redguard era, I suspect that the differing spellings arose from some sort of miscommunication, rather than a concerted, intentional change. —Andux 00:14, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
They now have a new map, which still shows it as "Summerset Isle" (it's a nice map, too). I'm going to change it back to Summerset Isle soon unless you can find an even more recent source. -Senori 19:23, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
