Sumpak

The sumpak is a crudely made gun which uses a steel pipe as a barrel. More commonly, the sumpak uses a shotgun shell, making it a devastating short range weapon. However there are several examples that use pistol rounds.

In order to fire the single shot sumpak, one must push one end relying on sheer strength to cause the bullets' percussion cap to ignite the bullet.

Often it is used for gang wars, especiallly in the Tondo district in Manila. Police have, to this point, been ineffective as far as removing the weapons and controlling the gangs.
