Summit (conference)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Summit is a conference for university students organised by Campus for Christ, in Canada. It involves worship, fellowship, biblical training, and a variety of lighter activities (games, canoeing, etc.). It typically occurs the last weekend in September or first weekend in October.
Summit is not technically one conference but a group of conferences by the same name, occurring at the same time in different places. Typically, each conference has between 50 and 400 students from various campuses.
The purpose of summit is to prepare students for a year of ministry on campus: equipping them with tools to do evangelism and discipleship, motivating the need to fulfill the Great Commission and fostering unity among students.
The conference is not exclusively for Christians, though most attendees are.
In 2006, there were 7 conferences across Canada.
