Summer Street

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Summer Street is the main street of Orange, New South Wales in Australia. It forms part of the Mitchell Highway passing through the city. Orange is a regional centre with population of about 40,000. The naming of the street is quite ironic given the fact that cold icy blasts of wind can and do blow up the street at all times of year including in the summer season. The street is oriented east-west meaning that one side is sunny and the other side is not. Orange also has three other streets named Autumn Street, Winter Street and Spring Street. These streets all intersect Summer Street on the eastern side of the city.
