"Summer Rain" is a song written by Robbie Seidman and Maria Vidal, produced by Rick Nowels for Belinda Carlisle's third solo album Runaway Horses. It was released around the world in 1990 as the second song released from the album and was released as a CD single, 7" single and a 12" single. It was later covered in 2004 as the debut song by Australian dance act Slinkee Minx, released only in Australia, later released across Europe and the US in 2006.

The song made it's debut in the charts in Australia on April 9, 1990 at number forty-two. After five weeks of being in the charts it made it's way into the top ten at number ten then jumped four places to it's peak position of six. It stayed at number six for three weeks then fell down the charts from then on spending sixteen weeks in the top fifty and becoming Carlisle's fourth top ten single in Australia. The song was released in the United Kingdom at the end of 1990 and become Carlisle's fifth top thirty single there. It made it's debut at forty-seven and stayed around that position until it's fifth week where it jumped fifteen places to number twenty-five. The week after that it reached it's peak position in the UK at number twenty-three then fell down the charts from then on, spending ten weeks in the top seventy-five.
