Sulgrave is a small village in the district of South Northamptonshire in England, with a population of around 380 people.

It is situated near Banbury in Oxfordshire and Sulgrave Manor is famous for being the home of the ancestors of George Washington although Washington Old Hall in Washington, Tyne and Wear is the original ancestoral home of the Washington family and was occupied by the family from 1100 through to the 1500s.

After leaving Washington, Sulgrave Manor was bought by Lawrence Washington and the Washingtons held it for over one hundred years. The present manor house, which had been used as a farmhouse, was extensively restored in 1929.
