Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Founded in 1996, SDU quickly became one of the nation's prestigious schools, and is named after the former Turkish prime minister Süleyman Demirel.

The language of instruction is English. There are 900 undergraduates seeking degrees in Economics, Philology, Mathematics and Computer science. The former department is renowned for its outstanding academics, and world class faculty. SDU can be classified as a Kazakh-Turkish University; therefore, many students come from 22 Kazakh-Turkish High Schools located in Kazakhstan's major cities. Some SDU graduates continue their studies abroad in the U.S., U.K, etc. The university has undergraduate programs in the following areas of study:

  • Computer Engineering (Computing System and Software),

  • Translation and interpreting,
  • Foreign languages instruction,
