Sukhdev Singh Jalwerha

Originally his parents where from a little village in Punjab, Jalwehra. He was born in Delhi, in 1955, as the eldest of all his siblings. At the age of 18 joined the army as an electrical mechanical engineer, and after 6 years he discharged. Then he joined Delhi police He worked there for 4 years.

During his police service he met an young man whose name was Manjeet Singh Babbar who was a cousin of him, a member of Babbar Khalsa International and a hijacker. He inspired him to work for Khalistan and Sukhdev began to write articles & became a close friend to Talwinder Singh Parmar, who was a far relative.

In 1985, Sukhdev did migrate to Belgium and got a stay as a political refugee. He faced a problem because all Sikhs weren't allowed to wear a turban on a passport photo. He fought the case and won, and the Sikhs where allowed to wear a turban on a passport photo. He also was the first turbaned Sikh in Belgium. He also started demonstrations each year on January 26, 1986. This continued for another 19 years. He then stopped. Each year it was him who got the permission to do a demonstration before the Indian Embassy in Belgium. His links with Khalistani activists where big. He has a good friend in Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh. He also knows Jagjit Singh Chauhan etc.

Currently Sukhdev Singh Jalwerha is busy writing a Punjabi book about Sikhism: History of Sikh Motherland.
