This is the User Page of SugnuSiciliano. I am Angelo Felice Coniglio, son of Gaetano and Rosa Alessi Coniglio, who emigrated to the U.S.A. in the early 1900's, from Serradifarcu, Cartanissetta, Sicilia. I have a family website which includes: a page on the history of Sicilia; my partial translation into English of the book Serradifalco by Giuseppe Testa; and a summary of a recent visit by members of my family and myself to our ancestors' origins in Serradifarcu, Muntarbanu Elicona, Mussumeli, and Marianopoli.
I am interested in: the origin and decline of the Sicilian language; the role of "Società Mutuo Soccorso" or Mutual Aid Societies in Sicilia during the great emigrations of the 1860's through 1920; origins of the Mafia; and in the present status of the Mafia in Sicilia.
