Sugar and the Raw was a band based out of Little Rock, Arkansas consisting of many members of the Little Rock music scene. The band is essentially a party dance band with elements of funk and rock and roll. They originally performed in suits and ties and playing at a fevered exited pitched ending the show with a shower of confetti but, they have become considerably more tame in recent years. Originally, they were known as "Sugar in the Raw" but allegedly had to change their name when the sugar packet company of the same name threatened to sue. Sugar and the Raw played there last show in Little Rock in January of 2007.
