Sue Woolfe

Sue Woolfe (born 1950 in Sydney) is an Australian author, teacher, scriptwriter, editor and documentary film-maker.

Sue Woolfe's two previous novels Painted Woman (1989) and Leaning Towards Infinity have been well-received by critics. She has recently released her third novel The Secret Cure.

Woolfe was raised in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, and completed tertiary studies at the University of Sydney and the University of New England. Her first novel Painted Woman was runner-up in the ABC Bicentennial Awards. Later she adapted the novel for stage and radio.

Woolfe has also written several short stories, including “Her Laughter Like a Song of Freedom” in a collection of international stories about misfits called Wild Minds: Stories of Outsiders and Dreamers. She has also collaborated with Kate Grenville to write the non-fiction book Making Stories: How Ten Australian Novels were Written (1993).
