[edit] Israeli boycott proposal
She is most notable for having introduced a motion (along with staff of the same and other universities) for members of the AUT to boycott two Israeli universities early in 2005, citing alleged human rights violations by Israel. The boycott was overturned within a few weeks of being passed, as lecturers claimed that the debate had not been fair, and due to reports of anti-Semitism. The boycott caused widespread debate and controversy in the UK, with passionate debates about its possible effects on both sides of the argument.
