This image demonstrates partial elimination of a row using Analysis in Sudoku. It is written in superscript notation, with all possible values for the squares as the superscripts There are three squares in the row which contain only three numbers: 4, 6, and 8. If 4, 6, or 8 were written in any square where they're red, it would be impossible to complete the squares where they're blue. Therefore, the numbers in red can be erased.
