[edit] Subirrigation common outdoors?

Regarding the reference to subirrigation for field crops in Florida, I was under the impression that subirrigation usually refers to the greenhouse systems, and is experimental as an outdoor technique. The current edit makes it sound as if it is commonly used in both field and greenhouse. --Tsavage 01:15, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Subirrigation has been used for years in Florida, in places where the water table is naturally high. I designed pipeline systems for several of these myself. I came to this article after researching the history of drip irrigation and found the link between the two. I'll see if I can find some references for you.H2O 01:50, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
