Suat Uğurlu Dam

Suatuğurlu Dam is 13 km south of Çarşamba town 25 km east of province of Samsun in northern Turkey and located 24 km downstream of Hasan Uğurlu Dam on the Yeşilırmak River which runs into the Black Sea . The storage of Suatuğurlu Dam is little but controlled by Hasanuğurlu Hydro Power Plant. Its first name was Bolahor Dam.

Suat Uğurlu was wife of an engineer who died together his husband at the end of an accident while her husband has been working at project of this dam and than in memory of her name is given to this project , her husbant’s name Hasan Uğurlu is given to an another project that has been erected 24 km upstream of Suatuğurlu Dam at the same times.
