Su e zo per i ponti

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Su e zo per i ponti is a non-competitive run held in Venice between March and April. The run starts in the Piazza San Marco, in front of the Doge's Palace. Runners follow a route characteristic of the city, which leads them through calli (streets), campi (squares) and ponti (bridges). The name makes reference to this route (su and zo are up and down respectively in the Venetian dialect).

Different routes are laid out for various age groups, and beverage is available along the track.

Runners receive a commemorative medal on completing the event.
