Detective Sergeant Stuart Turner is a character in the long-running TV series The Bill. As DS Turner is a CID officer he does not have a callsign and so in radio communications is simply referred to as "DS Turner". He is played by Doug Rao.

Stuart first arrived in Sun Hill as a DC from West End Central but was offered the position of DS at Sun Hill by DCI Jack Meadows. Stuart is a replacement for DS Ramani DeCosta.

[edit] Personal life and background

Stuart is a deeply competitive and highly ambituous detective, but is unpopular with many of his fellow colleagues in Sun Hill CID - particularly DS Phil Hunter, as he was deeply resentful of his relationship with then DS Samantha Nixon

[edit] Relationships

Stuart has only had one mentionable relationship since joining Sun Hill, with Samantha Nixon. They quickly became serious, and moved in together. When Sam discovered she was pregnant, Stuart was worried about his future, and his relief when she had a miscarriage was the main cause for their breakup.
