[edit] Danny Simpson
Hi there,
I tried to edit according to the guidelines that information on Wikipedia must be verifiable, not original research and presented from a neutral point of view.
I guess you are referring to the comparison with Ashley Cole. The reasons I edited this out are that I felt that it is a subjective opinion (often referred to as "PoV", Point of View), it does not have a source (and hence is unverifiable) and might be original research (who did the comparing?).
If you'd written something like
- ... Jim Journo, writing in The Sun on 5 January 2006 (page 123), has compared Simpson's play to Ashley Cole, particularly "his speed, comfort on the ball and defending ability" ...
it would be more suitable. I can see who said it (and hence judge its significance), it's verifiable and I know it's not an editor's original research. However, it still might be edited out if it was felt that Jim Journo could not really be expected to have professional insight into football. But that's much more of a value judgement, and one I personally steer clear of.
I hope this is useful to you.
