Talk:Streetfighter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Since these bikes are more commonly known as Naked bikes (and since that article was created first), this article should be merged into the Naked bike article.--Banana! 01:14, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Fighters are no "Naked bikes"
instead of beeing naked bikes. If this might be so User:80.221.93.204 would not create this Artikel the way he does, cause he is very experienced in Bike techniks (see his reverts). User:Terrace4 and User:TheMightyGrecian, reffered about the things people think about riders of Streetfighters. They write /didn´t revert the differisation between streetfighter and stock sportbikes. User:Everyking, who is a Admin since over 1 year, didn´t change anything instead of a second l in the word "ocasionally".User:Brianhe sets a link an clip-on Handlebars one of Several motorcycle technology stubs e.g. Oilhead, Triple tree, Motorcycle farkle, wich proves his knowlige of Motorbike terms. He olso didn´t change anything else.
- Then User:Banana steps on the Scene, Revision as of 01:11, 19 October 2005 merge|Naked bike and (while no one discussed with him) Revision as of 00:57, 25 October 2005 redirect Naked bike.
- In the Naked bike artikel he kicks a stub about Spondon in the can, the most known Manufacturer of Streetfighter frames.
- Banana: drive your CB600 and think you own a Streetfighter, but let the rest of the world know the trouth.++Scooterman 19:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Listen: Wikipedia isnt the place for some elitist to vent his views on the motorcycling world: its an encyclopeida whose purpose is to provide information. Choppers are a wild and usually distastful modification of stock (or in some cases an entirely new motorcylcle), but they are still classified as cruisers. There is absolutely NOTHING that differentiates a streetfighter from a naked bike except the use of (often frivolous) expensive custom parts. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_motorcycle#Standard.
And, on a final note, the CBR600 is not my bike (taken off the main motorcycling article), but I would appreciate it if you suppressed your testosterone-backed comments in the future.

- Hello Banana, Wikipedia is the place for telling the truth instead of praying the lack of the thinktanks of Bike Manufakturers. In my view some people count them as Naked Bikes, other argue that this therm is marketingspeech and does only fit on new stock-motorcycles of the 90es+ aera (and not 70es/80es Retro "Muskle Bikes", called "Big Bikes" in germany in that aera. Do you think a BSA Gold Star is a naked bike, well i don´t it´s just a Bike. And it does´nt look naked to me . This is only what I think when i see a Tuono or a Stock bike like that. That is Naked. If every Biker in Britain uses the therm Naked bike for his fighter instead of the Bikers from the Kontinent who wont, ok, if not: "dont do this again". ;)))
I hope that others will left their Vote obout:++Scooterman 12:20, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vote: Streetfighter is Naked bike or is not Naked bike.
Streetfighter is a Naked bike:
Streetfighter is not a Naked bike:++Scooterman 12:20, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Its pretty obvious no one else is gonna vote on this, so I've got a compromise for you:
We jointly create an article called "Standard Motorcycle", which would be defined as a road motorcycle with an upright riding position and lacking fairings. In this article we would create sections for production naked bikes and for custom fighters. We would then have the Naked Bike article and Streetfighter article redirect there.
How's that sound? :D 06:53, 7 March 2006 Banana!
Sounds you don´t understand my pov, I dont think that Fighters are standard. If you want to write an article about Fighters and other Bikes have a look on Custom motorcycle. ++Scooterman 15:47, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Merged the two separate streetfighter articles, put redirect on other page drf 21:06, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
