Hey, sorry I jumped in there and changed the entire article with no explanation. I am new to Wikipedia and hadn't realized it was poor etiquette. Anyway, I love the game and that's why I was compelled to do it. I have a feeling the whole confusion over 2010 vs. SF2010 stems from the Gamefaqs mislisting. Also, I have heard another story that in the original Japanese version, the hero was not named Ken but was instead a police officer named Kevin. I have no idea whether that is true.

Here is the text before I changed it:

Street Fighter 2010 is a game for the NES. The object is to destroy a series of super-aliens, gather the energy left behind, and jump through dimensional portals in order to chase down a thief who killed the character's friend, Troy. It is a very difficult game, although like Ninja Gaiden, it allows the player infinite continues. The character, Ken, has the ability to grab onto walls, jump, shoot, and gather power-ups.

The Street Fighter Name

Street Fighter 2010 was originally released on the September of 1990. Alternatively, in Japan the game went under the title of "2010". In the United States, "2010" was the name of a novel and movie, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey. Capcom USA needed to change the name slightly so as not to present this game as the video game representation of the movie.[citation needed] After [[Street Fighter II] became immensly popular and Ryu and Ken became household names, many believed that the Ken in Street Fighter 2010 was a future version of the Ken in previous Street Fighter games. The US game's backstory mentions that Ken used to be a champion on the Street Fighter circuit who underwent bionic enhancement for this mission, hinting that it was the same Ken from Street Fighter I. Now it is almost undisputed fact that this game and its characters have no connection to the series.

Street Fighter 2010 was definitely related to the Street Fighter series, even if only minorly. Aside from the fact of it being titled "Street Fighter" and being a Capcom game, the hero is named Ken (and is described as a "retired Street Fighter... turned scientist"), and in the US release it is strongly implied through the cut-scenes that this is indeed the famous Ken from Street Fighter, though it isn't overtly stated. 71.131.184.183

Though a somewhat obscure game, Street Fighter 2010 has one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard. The composer, Junko Tamiya, has composed for other NES titles such as Bionic Commando.

In fact, the game is not related to Street Fighter series. Ken appearing in this game is just other of the bad decisions of Capcom America. Originally the protagonist of the game is Kevin Striker and he is a cyborg(altough is possible that he could be the son of Dr.Joseph)

There was one small element that made it from SF 2010 to SF2: World Warrior... Guile's Flash Kick. As it happens, Kevin Striker was the one to pioneer the attack, even if he did need to pick up a powerup before he could use it.
