[edit] Air bases

Glad to see lots of new SMWs. If you have the actual base or bases they were housed, that would be a good addition. Wikilinked to a blank page for now for the actual SMW if listed with a base(s). If nothing else, that provides some context as to where the missile bases were. Thanks! Pharmboy 17:24, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I think that eventually SAWS should go to a seperate article, once the primary participants have built it up, then just link to them to each other. This should provide a nice framework for future work. Still need much more information while building the links. Right now, its more of a list of lists. Pharmboy 00:19, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
This booger is growing fast. I reorganized because it was getting hard to read, put in SMW and SAW cats. Needs a definition for the difference in SMW and SAW, maybe 1 or 2 line description of the missles, and links to the proper missile catagories. Maybe mission statements, goals, etc. to give some meaning to the list. Pharmboy 15:46, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
I do not understand why you feel that it is necessary to seperate SMW and SAW from the the rest of the wings. What would you do with the other spacialized wings, such as :

• ABW=Air Base Wing • ANG=Air National Guard • ATRW=Aerospace Reconnaissance Technical Wing • ARW=Air Refueling Wing • BG=Bombardment Group • BW=Bomb Wing • CCTW=Combat Crew Training Wing • FIW=Fighter Interceptor Wing • FW=Fighter Wing • MW=Missile Wing • RW=Reconnaissance Wing • SAW=Strategic Aerospace Wing • SFW=Strategic Fighter Wing • SMW=Strategic Missile Wing • SRW=Strategic Reconnaissance Wing • SW=Strategic Wing • SWW=Strategic Weapons Wing • T&TW=Tactical and Training Wing • TTW=Training and Testing Wing • W=Wing R. E. Mixer

Actually I started this page soley to focus on SMW, not SAW, and other contributed the SAW data. I said above that I would expect SAW would be split off once there was enough content. My goal is/was to focus solely on SMW, as I served with a SMW myself. Other wing type pages sound like a great idea but I don't have enough data to do it all myself. They would all compliment SAC/TAC/MAC and suppliment them. To me, it isn't separating them but expanding on them and seeing a list of the bases/craft/missiles/links adds context and makes finding more info easier. Pharmboy 00:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
