  2. Electromechanical or Step by Step (SxS) Automatic telephone exchange equipment using the principles initially suggested by Almon (Brown) Strowger.

"Strowger" is also a part of the name of:

  1. Almon (Brown) Strowger, whose patents of 1891 were used for the first commercial installation of an automatic telephone exchange in 1892.
  2. A BRT Locomotive named Almon B Strowger after the inventor of the automatic telephone exchange.
