[edit] Set details
The set contains 60 cards, including 4 Ultra Rares, 7 Super Rares, 14 Rares, and 35 Commons. Every Ultra, Super, and Rare card has an Ultimate Rare counterpart in the English language release.
The English release reintroduced Secret Rare cards, which have not been seen in expansion sets since Ancient Sanctuary. There are 9 Secret Rares included in the set, 8 of which are cards from the Surge of Radiance Structure Deck. In addition, a single card was designed specifically for the TCG and distributed as Strike of Neos' Sneak Preview promotional card, also a Secret Rare.
[edit] Mechanics
Strike of Neos includes cards used by Jaden Yuki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime series. The remaining three Neo-Spacians and their basic Fusions make their debut, as do a new family of monsters: The Six Samurai, whose abilities trigger as long as there are other Samurai on the field who do not share the same name as any one given member. Further support is placed on the Dark World and Alien archetypes, as well as on Ritual Monsters that work synergetically with Normal Monsters.[1]
[edit] Notable cards
- Grandmaster of the Six Samurai - The Sneak Preview promotional card which was offered exclusively in the English language release of Strike of Neos.
- Gene-Warped Warwolf - A card with the highest ATK strength among lower-level Normal Monsters.
- Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World - The strongest of the new Dark World monsters. When discarded to the Graveyard by an opponent's card effect, it can be Special Summoned and completely annihilate all Monsters or Spell and Trap Cards on the opponent's side of the field.
- Elemental Hero Air Neos - One of the three Neos Fusions in the set. Fusion Summoned by returning Elemental Hero Neos and Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird on the field to the player's Deck, this monster's ATK strength is increased by the difference between its controller's and the opponent's Life Points when its controller has fewer Life Points.
- Skyscraper 2 - Hero City - A Field Spell that revives 1 Elemental Hero destroyed through battle once per turn during its owner's Main Phase.
