Strike The Root is a journal publizing articles written by authors of libertarian/market anarchist ideological relationship. 'Strike The Root' states the goal is: "The mission of Strike The Root is to advance the cause of liberty, primarily by de-mystifying and de-legitimizing the State. Strike The Root seeks a world where people are free to live their lives as they see fit, as long as they don't use force or fraud against peaceful people."[1]

Henry D. Thoreau wrote in his book Walden, "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." which from the organisation taken its name.
