Der Stricker was the pseudonym of a 13th century Middle High German itinerant poet whose real name has been lost to history. His works include a German adaptation of the Song of Roland and an Arthurian romance, Daniel von Blumenthal. His nickname means "the knitter", possibly in reference to his weaving of tales.
