[edit] About the show

It was originally a two-hour program that aired on CNBC from 1996 to February 2002. A few months later, launched Open Exchange with Tyler Mathisen aired at 2-3pm ET. On December 8, 2003, former Business Center host Ron Insana revived Street Signs. And on March 2006, Erin Burnett replaced Insana (who is now a senior analyst for the network) as the program's new host.

This program brings viewers to the heart of the day's market action. In addition, Wall Street's most respected names join the program to offer their perspective.

[edit] Stop Trading!

At 2:40pm ET, Jim Cramer (host of another CNBC program, Mad Money) presents the "Stop Trading!" segment. In this segment, which formerly aired on Closing Bell prior to September 11, 2006, Burnett asks Cramer about the stocks making news, and also asks him for his take on the day's markets. After the segment, a full-screen disclaimer is shown as Street Signs go to a commercial break.

[edit] Other notes about the show

Street Signs is not seen on CNBC Europe as that net instead airs Europe Tonight (Monday-Thursday) and Europe This Week (Fridays).
