Stream of Passion is a progressive metal band with symphonic metal influence founded by Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Marcela Bovio. Because the musicians in the band lived thousands of miles apart, Lucassen composed the group's debut album, Embrace the Storm, over the internet. It was released on October 24, 2005 on Inside Out records [1].

With the exception of vocalist Marcela Bovio, who had appeared on Ayreon's album The Human Equation, Lucassen selected little-known musicians to form this band.

[edit] UK Show Cancellation Controversy

Currently, as of December the 7th, 2006, the band is preparing to make a tour around in Europe. The official website[2] states this gigs as the last opportunity to see the band live in action in Europe, as Lucassen is already working on a new Ayreon album.

UK tour update, February 2nd 2007: Stream of Passion suffered a terrible blow on Friday afternoon when the band arrived at Calais, France to board the Ferry to England. The Mexican band members were instantly separated from the group, and each other, and were interrogated by British and French Police for four hours. All because the British immigration service was convinced they were intending to take up illegal residence in England.

The immigration service asked Naomi, the band's tour manager, to provide them with evidence to the contrary, and listed the types of documents required. And though Naomi jumped through every one of their newly found hoops, and repeatedly produced whatever documentation they demanded as proof, they could not be persuaded. Even with the help from the kind promotors of the concerts in England, various Embassy officials, and immigrant agents in Britain (who told the tour manager there shouldn't have been any problem for them to enter the UK in the first place) there was no changing their minds. This eventually led to Marcela, Alejandro and Diana being sent out of the country without any possibility for them to get to England to perform the shows[citation needed].
