Stratos (Greek: Στράτος) is a community and municipality in the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania or Etoloakarnania. Stratos is located on GR-5/E55 (Antirrio - Ioannina) and NW of Agrinio, N of Messolonghi and S of Amfilochia and Arta. Stratos is situated in the Acheloos Valley and the Acheloos river flows to the east and south. A pond and a swamp area lies to the east along with a 2 km long bridge that used to be one of the longest in Greece. Mountains cover the northern part of the municipality.

The origin of the name dates back to ancient times as Stratus. Its ruins lies not far from the town and features an ancient amphitheatre, an acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. It is surrounded by hills.

Much of the population are rural and the main economy is based on agriculture and businesses. The income is in the middle range. The village was affected by floods as waters of Acheloos River overflowed its banks in December 2005. Homes were flooded and some properties were damaged. Roads were flooded. Crops were partially ruined.
