[edit] Performances

The show was first performed by Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS) on 6-16th of October 2006 at the Cellar Theatre, Sydney University. The show was a smash hit; during the second week audiences typically topped 100 a performance, with another 30 or so being turned away every night at the door due to over-crowding. The show featured 13 original songs and an enormous B-52 Bomber in the centre of the stage. "Strangelove" was feted by students across Sydney University and critically acclaimed in the pages of the Union Recorder and Honi Soit

Popular demand prompted the original cast and crew to regather for an encore season at the Cellar Theatre on December 6-16th, 2006. The show gained one new song, and had its dialouge tightened in sections.

Following the success of the Cellar Theatre runs, "Strangelove" was offered a spot in the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show will run Tuesdays to Saturdays, 4th - 28th April at fortyfivedownstairs, 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne. It will feature six new songs and four new actors, as well as six familiar faces from the original cast.

Prior to the Festival "Strangelove" staged a special one night only performance at 7:00 pm March 23 in Sydney University's Manning Bar. The performance doubled as a fundraiser and as SUDS' semester one party.
