Stranahan High school, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was officially opened in 1953 as an elementary school. It was built on land donated by Ivy Cromartie Stranahan and named after her late husband Frank Stranahan.
The current principal is Deborah Owens. Stranahan High School has two magnet programs—dedicated to engineering and medicine. Its bus system serves all children in Broward County south of Sunrise.
SHS features many clubs and extracurricular activities, including The Robotics club, Weight Training, and the normal clubs expected from a high school (marching band, Drama, Football, etc.).
