[edit] Summary

After another vacation, the group is still looking for a way to fight Xana. Xana, meanwhile, is trying to destroy Lyoko, preventing them from doing just that. He does so by targeting the core of Lyoko, which contains the code that maintains the virtual world. In a sidestory, Odd blackmails Jim into asking the principal to make Odd have the same classes as his friends.

[edit] Recap

After a two-week vacation (presumably a few months after the "End of the Year" dance in The Key), the group is still looking for a way to fight Xana. Having escaped to the internet, Xana is virtually untouchable. Jeremie has modified his super-scanner program to track him, but lacks the capacity to send his friends into the internet after Xana. Odd notes that they have to get their class schedules. Before they leave the lab, Yumi tells Ulrich that she wants to talk to him, but decides to do so later after Odd calls after them.

At school, Ulrich tells Odd about what Yumi said. Odd jokingly speculates that she's going to ask him to marry her. Sissi comes up to tell Ulrich that they'll be in the same class again, which she thinks is wonderful. Odd sarcastically agrees with her. Instead of responding angrily, she simply tells him that he won't be laughing in a minute and kisses his nose. As she leaves, Jeremie arrives to fulfill Sissi's prediction: Odd's not going to be in the same classes as his friends. Not willing to accept that, Odd goes to do something about it. As Odd leaves, the others decide to head for the cafeteria. Ulrich holds Yumi back, wanting to know what she wanted to say earlier. Before she can say it, however, William interrupts them.

In the principal's office, Odd tries to get the secretary to let him see the principal. He manages to convince her by saying it's about Sissi. Once in the principal's office, Odd tries to convince him that Sissi wants to be in the same class as him. The principal, however, can't change Odd's classes that easily, especially since Jim insisted that Odd remain apart from Jeremie and Ulrich.

In the cafeteria, Jeremie's program tracks down Xana, who's hiding in the United States for the moment. Jeremie decides to head for the lab, and Aelita goes with him. Once again alone, Ulrich tries to talk to Yumi again, only to be interrupted by Sissi. He angrily pushes her aside and leaves with Yumi. Meanwhile, Odd goes looking for Jim in his room. While Jim's not there, Odd finds a picture of Jim that's just as helpful -- a picture of Jim in a disco outfit.

In the park, Ulrich and Yumi finally get a chance to talk. Having thought about their relationship over the vacation, Yumi decides that they would be better off being just friends. Though surprised, Ulrich accepts it. Jeremie calls him just after this happens to report something happening in Lyoko. Xana has assembled an army in Carthage, but for what reason remains unclear. Regardless, it can't be good.

In Jeremie's room, Odd finds a video of Jim's disco dancing on the Internet. He downloads it onto a CD as Jeremie calls him. On his way out, he runs into Jim, and uses the video as leverage to get into the same classes as his friends. Jim tries to take the CD back, but can't keep up with Odd.

At the factory, Ulrich and Yumi arrive in the lab. Both are clearly unhappy about their previous conversation, but deny it when Jeremie points it out. Dismissing it, Jeremie has them head to Lyoko. Odd arrives shortly after, having gotten to the sewer well before Jim could catch him.

On Lyoko, the group makes their way to the pickup point for the Transport Orb. On the way, Odd explains his plan to get back into their class. The others don't approve of the blackmail, which annoys Odd. After making their way to Carthage, Jeremie explains that the monsters are in a room below them, but it can only be accessed from the outside surface. After the dome opens, they find themselves in a large room with sparsely-placed platforms leading to the key. Odd starts off, barely making it to the first platform. His friends, on the other hand, jump between them easily. Aelita in particular makes good time, getting all the way across in record time while the others stare blankly. She hits the key just before the timer ends. The others make their way across as the room begins shifting, with Odd still making the worst time. Ulrich teases him for it, so Odd tells him to lay off. Odd then asks Ulrich about what he and Yumi talked about, and Ulrich responds as Odd did previously.

Outside the sphere, Jeremie directs his friends to the room at the bottom of Carthage. Two Mantas try to impede them, but are unsuccessful. Aelita and Yumi are the first to enter the room. Odd and Ulrich follow shortly, but not before destroying their pursuers. Inside the room, the group finds a groups of Creepers attacking a giant sphere with an image of Lyoko contained within it. Jeremie begins analyzing it as the group begins dispatching the monsters. After a few are dispatched, Jeremie reveals that the sphere is the heart of Lyoko, supporting and maintaining the virtual world. Should it be destroyed, so will Lyoko. With Yumi already devirtualized, Jeremie urges them to keep that from happening. One by one, the monsters are destroyed. Unfortunately, Odd and Ulrich meet a similar fate, leaving only Aelita against a single Creeper. While the others are concerned, Jeremie just tells them to watch. Using a new power, Aelita creates a pink energy ball and tosses it at the Creeper. At the same time, the Creeper fires at her, devritualizing them both.

In the lab, Jeremie is concerned over Aelita's devirtualization. Heading down to the scanner room, the group finds that she's been devirtualized normally. Jeremie notes that Aelita has been made completely human by the restoration of her memories, and thus can be devirtualized normally like her friends.

In their room, Ulrich explains his conversation with Yumi to Odd. Odd is surprised that Ulrich accepted it so easily. Getting up, Odd says that he has to go apologize to Jim. At Jim's room, he gives back the CD with Jim's disco video on it. Jim is surprised, and also understands Odd's motivation. He promises to do something about Odd's classes, noting that he was young once, too. When Odd asks him about it, he begins to talk about how he had curly hair, but then decides not to talk about it.

[edit] Memorable Quotes

Odd: Well, there's only one thing to do.
Jeremie: What's that?
Odd: Go for broke!
Jeremie: (Bell rings) Ok. While he's going for broke, we'll go for lunch.
Ulrich: Looks like you've got your "z" game going today.
Odd: Lay off, will you? Did you talk to her?
Ulrich: Lay off, will you?

[edit] Trivia
