- April 20, 2006- A Cessna 206, crashed in Bloomington, Indiana, killing five Indiana University students. The crash was the worst for the University since its founding in 1820. An investigation by the FAA determined that pilot error and foggy condtions was to blame for the crash even though the plane did not carry a in-flight data recorder and there were no distress calls from the aircraft before it crashed.
- June 2, 2006- A learjet owned by televenglist Pat Robertson crashed off the coast of Conneticut, killing both pilots and injuring three passengers who survied the crash. An FAA investigation suggested that fog was to blame and that the plane was flying at a lower than normal altitude.
