[edit] Red Box

I just wanted to point out that the red box that showed up out of nowhere scared me and probably many other people. I was watching it on IFC one night and the red box came out of nowhere and it scared the crap out of me and some other people probably because like it was freaky I couldn't sleep all night and unless nobody else was startled by it I think we should add something mentioning that it was startling or something, plus according to something the scene blocked out was a rape scene, not sex scene

[edit] Third segment?

The original version of the film featured a third story, concerning, among other things, a closeted football player played by actor James van der Beek. After being shown in several film festivals, for unknown reasons the entire story was cut from the final version. Many fans aware of this plot point hope for a release of the material, however to date it has not occurred.
Solondz claims the third section was never filmed.

Does anyone have proof of any of this? If the director has stated that the third section was never filmed, then it probably wasn't filmed. The whole "third segment" thing sounds like a rumor to me. (Ibaranoff24 03:49, 22 June 2006 (UTC))

I havent heard anything about this. There should be some reference to the 'coloured square' used to censor the notorious sex scene - I think Solondz did this to gain the film an NC-17 rating, although a version without the square is available and is unrated. I'll work this in when I have watched it--ChrisJMoor 14:59, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Here is one source that mentiones the third part and even gives explanations for it beeing cut out http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/15369/Belle_and_Sebastian_Storytelling

[edit] topless

I don't think the information that Selma Blair is featured topless is necessary information. It should be removed 84.174.2.49 21:40, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
